Adapted to everyone, this rambles are mostly done in undergrowth and forest. The plateau of La Chaise-Dieu is rolling and crossed by rivers such as La Borne, La Senouire and La Dore, sources of freshness. The hiking paths are passable from spring to fall. The guidebook of La Chaise-Dieu comprises 18 tours of walks and strolls. Their lengths vary from 1h30 and 5h30. They are certified Respirando (local label which guarantees to make pass the walks on public paths, with as less of tarmac as possible, with a follow up and maintenance of the markings…) and marked in yellow by the local council communities.
Besides the walks, a visit of the village of La Chaise-Dieu and of its imposing abbey cannot be overlooked. If you visit this area during the summer season, you’ll be able to attend its famous festival of classical music.
